Feto Soap

Lisa Chouinard likes to melt things. Her DIY health and beauty business, Feto Soap, was born after she purchased a soap making kit from a local craft store and became hooked on making soap. Her first commercial soap, the popular (and controversial) Feto Soap contains small, colorful polymer clay fetos and has been featured in For Him Magazine in the UK, United States, and Indonesia. Feto Soap has also been in an Italian magazine, People in Groove. But Feto Soap is not just about making a statement--it's about quality, 100% DIY soaps, lotion bars, lip balms and body sprays designed, labeled, promoted--and melted--by Lisa herself. Visit her online store at www.fetosoap.com for a complete line of beauty products.

Scraps of Paper

As a writer I was in search of the perfect journal. I never had much luck. In 2002 I took a bookbinding class and loved it. I started making a few blank books using handmade and fresh white papers. They were lovely, but still missing something.
I had read about altered books and had an idea--old books as new books.
I now scour garage and library sales in search of old, sometimes tattered books that are visually interesting and rebind them with blank pages. Features like ribbons, pockets, elastic cords and latches are also added.
I unfortunately have a day job to pay the bills and all that good stuff. When I'm not hiding behind the walls of my cube I'm in the craft room buried under an avalanche of paper scraps. One day the craft room will be clean, maybe.

Happy Owl Glass

I have always been fascinated by the likes of birds, trees and simple curiosities around me that deserve a closer look. I try to incorporate these ideas into my glass, feeling that they are reachable by many walks of life. Regarding the style of my work, I pursued the media of glass with a background in graphic design. Because of this rigid mindset, I can't seem to shake the look of hard lines in much of my work. However, I try to create a complimentary mix of warm subject matter with fine technical detail to amount to a friendly body of functional glasswork.
